The PGA event in Greensboro is a prestigous event and is one of the oldest tournaments on the tour dating back to the 1930's yet Tiger has never played here. Why does he play at the Wachovia Championship Charlotte and not Greensboro? will he ever play in Greensboro?

  1. I highly doubt it.

  2. Wouldn't it be great if Tiger Woods, Phil Michelson and others spread themselves around so that in a 5 year period they would hit some of the lesser publicized venues eventually playing at all of them? That would bring more fans to golf than any other venue. Forget the Fed-Ex Cup.

  3. No.  It is a fall tournament with no importance.  Tiger doesn't even play Pebble Beach anymore, and after the Tour Championship, he shuts it down until the team events and his tourney in December.

  4. NEVER!!!its right after a major...hes praticing and resting after a major *his knee cant take 2 much more golf...and he wants 2 win 19 majors*

  5. Not going to happen.  You have the WGC event in Ohio, the PGA Championship, plus the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs, and then either the Ryder Cup or the President's Cup.

So you're talking about two high profile tournaments, the Wyndham Championship, the four FedEx playoff dates, and a team competition.

Potentially, that's eight events in eight to nine weeks.  No player is going to play that much, and Woods sure as heck won't.

The Wachovia Event has a prime spot on a course that Woods clearly likes, and is a tuneup for the Players Championship and the US Open.

  6. Well, he isn't playing anywhere right now, but you'd have to ask him if he ever plans to go to Greensboro in the future.
