  1. No.  Far too difficult to have your "A" game at precisely those times.  Too many outside factors.

  2. Yeah I think Tiger wins the slam this year. He is playing the best golf since he went on the phenomenal run in 2000, and he himself said that he thinks he is playing at a better level. Tiger in his interview said that he even has "room to improve". That is just scary for everyone else out there after he just ran away with that tournament.

The Masters at Augusta always puts Tiger in a favorite roll, because of his power off the tee and his great putting. Torrey Pines is long too. Tiger just showed that he can get around there even if the grass is longer this year compared to past Buick Open Championships. The Open Championship is being held this year at Royal Birkdale and Tiger and the Claret Jug have not been enemies recently with him winning 2 of the last 3. And the last major of the year takes them to the PGA Championship @ Oakland Hills where Woods will look to defend his title and potentially go for the slam. He would be so focused if it got that far that I don't even think anyone would come close to him.

Tiger is just a better player in the moment and when he gets the lead you can pretty much engrave the trophy.

  3. Yes, because he's black and he's the best golfer out there.

  4. He wins half of em, Phil wins half of em.

  5. Tiger stands a very good chance of winning the grand slam this year and here is why.  First off the Us Open is at Torrey Pines this year, which we all know what he does there 4 straight wins now.  And as Tiger said himself he is hitting more shots now and better shots than he was in 2000.  Now I wouldn't go betting on him winning all 4 majors as we saw last year someone can get hot and still beat him, he is only human I know we forget that tiger has off days but he does.  So it is very possible he can do it but not a 100 percent deal.

  6. Well, yes, he certainly has a shot. But the odds are low.  You have to beat a large field of the games best 4 consecutive times. Remember you cant play defence in golf.  Someone else can and probably will have a great week at one or more of the four. Even though he is clearly the best in the world, he wins "only" 26 percent of the events he enters.  Based on that, I give him a 1 in 15 chance.  The courses this year are all great for his game so I'd take that down to 1 in 10.

to Batman below: He hasn't won the slam before.

  7. the bloke is just to good. his form at the buik told us alot. hes gonna give it a red hot go and i think his game is in the right spot.

                                  THIS IS HIS YEAR!!!

  8. I think that if he wins 'The Masters', then he has a good chance.  'The Masters' and the PGA Championship will be his greatest challenges.   He's very lucky that the US Open will be played at Torrey Pines, because even with his rejuvenated golf swing, US Open courses have tended to be so difficult that they have turned into a battle of attrition and not a test of golf skill.

  9. no.not in a million years

  10. Why not?

He's done it before, he can do it again!

  11. yes, because he wins practically everything

  12. Its iffy.  He knows how to build his schedule to peak whenever he wants, and judging by the Buick id say he made some changes even though he hits the ball 400 yards and can hit wedge into every hole.  So its iffy.  Not to mention the fact that he played 8 times last year and won 6 times and placed 2nd in the other two so its still kinda of a stretch.   Did i mention the fact that he can hit the ball a mile?

    (i was being sarcastic)
