Will Toro Rosso be able to do better In the upcoming races?
They say the fight is not over until it is over; the Red Bull’s second team Toro Rosso is determined that they can still prove themselves despite the fact that half of the season is already gone and they had not been able to do very good. The team says that they are very optimistic and are working hard for the next half of the season.
The year did not begin very well for them as they were hardly able to bag only two points in the first four races. However, they were able to bag a few points in the later races and now finally they stand at the ninth place in the Constructors’ Standings, one place behind the team Sauber, being short of five points only from Sauber.
Toro Rosso had not been able to do very well in the last season as well when they ended at the bottom of the Constructors’ Championship with almost no luck all throughout the season.
At the Silverstone Circuit last weekend, again they did not produce the desired results. Yet, they head towards the German Grand Prix in the upcoming week with high spirits and optimism. The team Principal, Franz Tost talked to the Formula One official website this week saying that he feels sad for the team had not been able to score a single point at the last round of the Formula One caravan but he is hopeful that they would be able to end at eighth place in the Constructors’ Standings by the end of 2010 season. He admitted the fact that the competition is very tough this season and the team will have to work very hard to produce the desired results. Nevertheless, he depicted full confidence in his drivers claiming that they are very positive and ready to work as hard as they can to achieve their goal.
He further explained that their STR5 is doing well so far and the team is to come up with some additional up-gradations shortly which will increase the efficiency of the car furthermore. He briefed the improvements that are expected in the car saying that the team is to introduce a new front wing for the car at the German Grand Prix and later at the Hungarian Grand Prix they are to come up with the new diffuser. He further kept on telling that they are also planning a new pipe line and with all these changes he is sure that improvement in point scoring will certainly show.
While talking about the team’s drivers, Sebastian Buemi and Jamie Alguersuari, he accepted the fact that they are new to Formula One world and less experienced than their competitors. However, he thought that they had been able to do pretty well. For Alguersuari he hoped that after his race in Hungary he would be able to do much better as last year he had his debut race with Formula One in Hungary and from there onwards all the tracks would be familiar to him as he would have completed one round of the calendar by then except for the South Korean Circuit, which is a new addition to the calendar.
He concluded saying that the cars, the drivers and the team strategy all needs to be improved and worked upon closely to get the desired results and for that he is glad that the entire team is working really hard to reach up to the mark that they have aimed for themselves.
