I take vicodin or Oxycotin and xanax for pain and depression. I have to fly to Seattle, WA from Columbia, SC and it will be 8-10 hours before I get to the hospital to have my blood work done. Although these are prescribed for me and I can take them as needed, I would like to know if they will show up in my blood work?

They would prefer I not take them if I do not have to. They are for my chronic pain and nerves, but I may have to take one on the plane depending on my nerves and the level of my pain. It wil probably be from 10-12 hours before they do the blood work. Do these medicines require special blood work or will it show up in a regular CBC test?

The hospital will continue to give them to me anyway but I would prefer not to take them to close together and that they not show up in my blood work. I am a 61 yr old lady who has been taking this medication for about a year. I am going to the hospital for special treatment for the severe paid caused by my Fibromyalgia,as well as, my Chonic fatigue and Severe Depression. Generally how long does it take this medicine to to get out of your system for and not show up in a blood test?

FYI: I have a prescription for this medication to take as needed but, I was afraid I may have to take one during the flight or prior to the flight. I AM NOT ON ILLEGAL DRUGS OR DRUG ADDICT. I was simply courious how long it takes the medicine to leave your system and not show up in your blood work.

  1. Generally, the bulk of most of those medicines is processed in 3 to 5 days, however, I would allot at least a 30 day period for them to be completely erradicated from your bloodstream and would still not be suprised if trace amounts were to show up after that time period. The fact is, it is hard to get rid of every last trace of some of these pharmaceuticals, and our technology is fantastic at detecting these things; thanks to the war on drugs. Personally I would recommend throwing all of that junk in the garbage and stocking up on a good dose of high grade medicinal marijuana. It's safer, cheaper, more predictable and more effective. Peace.

  2. they stay in your system for a while--soem drugsa re 30 days or more--you would have to research each of them--

they will not show up in a CBC-

only in a drug (chem) test

  3. Yes; they will show up in your blood if you take the regularly; whether or not you take them that day. You'd have to be off of them at least a week to get it out of your system for a blood test.

  4. yes ma'am they will, but if got a script for them, u're good..it take about a week for ur system to be clean..

  5. yes it does it takes about 2 weeks to get out of your system

  6. They will show up in your system IF that is what they are looking for- It won't show up unless they specifically do a drug screen. A CBC will not show drugs like that but a "drug screen" will. Those are some pretty powerful meds especially taken together. If I were you I would talk to a Dr and see if you really need all of those. They new meds these days for your problems also remember that Jesus died for YOU!!! He made you and he can fix you!
