  1. use aspirin

  2. Tylenol may provide some relief, but ther's probably inflammation involved, so ibuprophen or another NSAID such as naproxen (Aleve) would likely help more.  Aspirin would address the pain in the same manner as the NSAIDs, but is much weaker.  In any case, don't take them on an empty stomach.  You can combine acetaminophen (tylenol) and ibuprophen without any problem.  Assuming you weigh over 100 lbs, tylenol dosage should be in the 700-1300 mg range, with ibuprophen 400-600 mg (that dosage remains the same even if you weigh 150-200).  You can take both meds (tylenol and ibuprofen) twice daily.  Best off if you don't take continuously for a long period of time.  Tylenol isn't healthy  for your liver or kidneys, while ibuprophen and other NSAIDs can cause stomach upset and, like aspirin, are blood thinners.

I shouldn't have to say this, but the first thing to do is ice the elbow right after pitching.  Will probably help more than any of the meds.

  3. Motrin is better because it reduces swelling, but if you are allergic to ibuprofen or aspirin, then Tylenol does work. It takes longer to heal, but it does work.

I am allergic to ibuprofen and aspirin, and I threw my elbow out a few months ago. I used a tennis elbow brace and took the tylenol. It worked fine for me. I had to use a heating pad with it, but if I were able to use motrin then I wouldn't have needed the heating pad.
