  1. no china will more.

  2. I don't think so, this Olympics are China's oppotunity.

  3. I think even before the Olympics commenced, it was obvious that the US would win more medals overall, but China would win more gold medals. In Athens, the US won 36 gold while China won 32, so it only makes sense that at their home Olympics China would absolutely pump the US on the gold medal count.

Also, the US is good in sports that have lots of events (eg, swimming and athletics) and hence more conducive to a large overall medal count. Conversely, China is good (sometimes even unbeatable) at a broader range of sports which have fewer events- which explains why they will win the gold medal count.

  4. No.

  5. who knows?

    ~mystery~

  6. NO

  7. CHINA PR is the overall champions of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games with 50 golds to UNITED STATES 35 golds. with only 12 golds at stake in the last day today, they cannot be caught at the top of the medals tally now.

  8. nope it is too late. i rather have more golds than medals. having more medals means the country is really good at a certain sport. but having more gold medals means the country is the best at a certain sport.

  9. US Already has 10 more than china and always has had more.

  10. no. too late.

  11. maybe, i mean right now china has 49 gold while US only has 34.  if the US wins gold in basketball, it'll be 46 gold, and if the US some how wins at water polo, that'll be another 7 or something.

in the end, i don't think so, but i'm just trying to think positivley.

  12. Pretty sure it's too late to catch up,

and China seems to be rigging it pretty well

and to the person who said we're ahead

thats on total medals, not GOLD medals, we are way behind on GOLD

  13. No, it's not mathematically possible anymore.  If the U.S. wins the women's basketball gold medal, the gap will be 16 going into the last day.   There are only 12 gold medals left to be awarded, and the U.S. can only possibly win the men's marathon, men's basketball, men's volleyball, and men's water polo for a total of 4 gold medals on the last day, which would decrease the gap to 12 at the very least, but even that's highly unlikely.
