  2. Why would the US fight against Russia? Georgia tried to engage in military adventurism under the cover of the Olympics. Russia is merely giving it a deserved cuffing.  

  3. Yes we have the guts. I doubt anyone else in the wold does. Who, Maybe France??? Yeah right. Or maybe Germany?? Give me a break.  

  4. The Americans are stupid, but not that stupid (hopefully after the Iraq invasion). The Georgians have embarked upon a no-win adventure - and no matter how much rhetoric the Georgian buffoon PM cries at propaganda media presentations it's in line for a good **** kicking.

    After America understands its own people and internal needs. Then possibly.

    America has its problems in the countries they illegally invaded. They got too much to deal with.

No I doubt it.  Although I disagree with Bushrod.  Russia's actions are above and beyond what was deserved.  South Ossettia and Abkhazia were parts of Georgia that split off and so the Russians dont have a legitimate right to be even in this.  This whole fight was within the borders of Georgia.  So Russia walking into Georgia is like us walking into Mexico because a chunk of that country wanted to become part of the US.

    As far as our country is concerned, we only need to consider what are the costs and rewards of action in this situation.  Doing nothing says to the Russians and friendly Eastern European nations, "Hey if you get in a fight we wont help you out no matter how loyal you have been to us."  If we do get involved we risk fighting Russia, which really we cant do right now because we have our hands full paying for Iraq with our blood which we are getting nothing in return, except our host asking how soon we can get out and not let the door hit us on the butt on the way.  Wed be in a better position to do something if our pres hadnt decided to attack Iraq.

We lost the war to Communist Vietnam 30 years, we still can not handle our wars in Iraq, Afghan after 5+ years,  we can not pull ourselves out of a deep economy recession, we have huge national deficit (9+ trillion dollars), we owe Chinese communist 1+ trillion dollars debt, every American has $7000+ credit debt,  we have tons of home foreclosure, we have inflation, we have oil dependency,  high unemployment rate, .... Do we still have the gutts to fight against Russia Bear? Yes, a lot of gutts but no glory and no success, that's for sure.
