Will US cd player work in Europe?I heard that the radio can't find the signal, and it doesn't work? help plz

So I want to buy a nice cd player from my car, and I wonder if I will be able to listen to radio in Europe ? I heard that some of the cd players can't find any radio signal in Europe. I want to buy player from US. thanks

  1. Tuners designed for the US market usually can only tune in odd FM frequencies:  99.5, 99.7, 99.9, and so on.  You can't tune one to 99.8 or 99.85, for example.  Some CD players have an option to switch the tuner type.  My advice would be to download an owner's manual before you make a purchase.


  2. Yes the radio and cd players will work.  It did when i lived there years ago anyhow.

  3. First off you need to check the specs of the CD player and see if the radio frequencies will cover the ones you listen to, and also that it has the right bands.

    I know a Japanese radio wont work in Australia, and when the cars are imported they need to have a device fitted to change the stations.

    This might be the go for you. I think its called a band widener or something like that and it seems to plug in to the aerial socket.
