I don't see why, when did they last win the Champs league? Take for eg. If England was as sunny as Spain, would that make all the difference, a little bit of sunshine? If United can't make players see that they are the team to play for nowadays, then they never will and Madrid will just always get the credit that United should simply because of there tradition and it makes me sick!!!! United will soon become the team to win the Champs league more often than Madrid have won the European cup, trust me, all in good time!!! But if players like Ronnie want to move on, there we will always play second fiddle Real, such a shame.....: (

  1. When you do win the Cl more than we did, then you may be able to argue that you are a greater team. Until then, be happy with what you won last season instead of whining. Who cares about pointless biased titles anyway?!

  2. they are both under barca

  3. AC n Real are def. above man u!

  4. Manchester United were never second best. Besides we can't compare the two clubs. They are in two different countries and have different players and style...

I personally am a Manchester United supporter and I think that the difference between the teams is that United play with both soul and heart and are not all about money and being rich! No offence to Real Madrid fans.. that is just what I think so please don't take it personally! =)

  5. Manchester United was never second best to madrid. We won them in the European Cup Final in 1991 and that was a piece of cake. We can win them anytime anyplace anywhere.

  6. Real Madrid will always be the biggest club in the world that is never going to change

  7. no, but Madrid will aways pick up all of Man U's worn out players

  8. REAL MADRID IS THE GREATEST FOOTBALL CLUB IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! AND BARCELONA IS BETTER THAN MAN U!

  9. It breaks my heart to say this, but, yes.

We need to match their 8 European Cups and better it. Don't see that happening in my lifetime, not unless, Sir Alex managers to live till 120.

  10. I dunno about that. To be honest Real went through really bad form in the last four years and have only now started to get their act together by winning La Liga. Barcelona tended to be the team to watch but it seems to have swung back.

Although their attack can be incredible, Real's defence is still pretty bad. Although they've got Cannavaro it still leaks goals so to be honest I don't think they'll win the Champions League until they get their team sorted with younger players.

I'm surprised some premiership players want to go to Real, considering the likes of how McManaman, Owen, Woodgate and Gravesen got on there. However they will get paid astronomical amounts of cash and will play for a club that has world class players all over the pitch.

I say if a player really wants to go to Madrid then let them. If they are an attacking player, unless they are really exceptional like a Zidane, a Figo or a Beckham were, then its more than likely they'll find themselves on the bench.

Loads of great players will still come to the Premiership tho, but to be honest I think its time the top four started using their systems a lot more and bring through some more English players instead of always going abroad for new blood.

  11. Manchester UTD is the most popular sports team in the world. They haven't been second best for a while.

  12. They were never second best.

  13. Madrid aren't as special as you are making them out to be, the number one team in la liga is barcelona, most people fear them more than madrid. man utd will always be number 1 in Europe and the World.

  14. To be honest

I think Real Madrid & AC Milan are ahead of Man United. And no I'm not a Real or Milan fan.

  15. Nice point Shaine. I think two of some the real reasons why players want to move to Madrid are one, Real Madrid pays more (due to its massive support from the Spanish government) and two, because of the familiarity in cultures.

I never thought that players move there because they are the best team. You said it yourself, it was a long time since they last won the Champions League. They struggled to win the La Liga until recently. So they are hardly the best team in the planet.

The perception that they are the best comes from the fact that together with Barcelona, they have dominated the La Liga and have won more trophies. They were dominant also in the European front due to its ability to attract the best players in the past. But let me emphasise, it's in the past.

I concede that they are one of the richest and have a massive financial clout that can virtually buy every player they want. Paying outrageous salaries is not a problem too.

United though do not lack in history. They are not doing too bad either in success on the pitch and off it. It is a progressive team and if the board continues to appoint and let people with passion for football, then we will see even a more glorious future for Manchester United.
