Will Usain Bolt breaks his own record by running a sub 9.6 for his 100 metre?

I heard from the news that coaches said that if he didnt ease up, he could have gotten a sub 9.6.

Considering his only 22 and a few years away from his peak. Its very likely he will run a sub 9.6 in the future.

If he ever does, I dont think anyone would be touching that record for at least another 50 or even 100 years. LOL.

  1. Bolt could have easily got that time for the 100m at this Olympics but he slowed down near the end.


  2. absolutely. he broke the world record while running the last 20 meters witout his arms,celebrating. in addition to that many world class sprinters have said he has lots of flaws in his form(nothing he cant fix). so if he works on his form and goes all out he can easily shatter his own records.

  3. YES!!!!!!!!! He is the most amazing runner i have ever seen! He ran a 9.69 without even finishing through the line.

  4. Usain Bolt will break this record easy, personally I think that is why he slowed up and just "won" so he could come back and break his own record.

  5. He will definitely break it at some time, that is if he actually tries.

  6. Theoretically he should be able to do it, as he indeed has yet to hit his prime.

    On the other hand, he was on what's considered a good, fast track, and there's everything "extra" with the Olympics (adrenalin, world spotlight so everyone around you helps make sure you're at your peak, etc.).

    As time goes on, who knows how he might get worn down a little by new things he now has to deal with like media attention, high expectations every time he runs, psyching himself out, a surely-altered personal life, you name it.

    He should be able to beat it, but I doubt it's going to be quite as easy as some expect. His training and future attempts are going to have all sorts of additional interference now.

  7. He will go sub 9.6, but the record won't last for long.  I've been training for quite some time now and just ran an 8.1.
