What if I send a vonage adapter to Cuba and conect it to any internet service I get over there, let's say that the adapter is registered and has a phone number with an area code that belongs to USA. If I call FROM Cuba using that adapter, will it come out as a local call in USA? Help me please... Thank you.

  1. Assuming the adapter has been pre-tested and working before sending it abroad, the answer is yes.

It will show up as call coming from your registered Vonage phone number.  When it comes to VoIP, it doesn't matter from where you use the adapter from.... it's a flat world.

That said, as previously mentioned, if the government of the country from which you will be operating the adapter has Internet restrictions and prohibits VoIP, or greatly restricts VoiP for service providers outside their country, then it may not work for you.  But, that is because of that countries gov't restrictions and blocking of VoIP packets.

But, other than gov't restrictions (and blocking), technically speaking,  VoIP accounts will function from anywhere in the world.  That is the beauty of VoIP...

  2. the MagicJack will work....if you can find a someone with a computer and use it! You will need one and send also one to Cuba!

  3. To the best of my knlwledge this will NOT work.  CUBA has a restriction on their internet.  IP addresses and traffic are monitored and restricted.  I don't believe vonage will be allowed there.
