Will Wal-Mart give me a refund on a video game without a receipt?

Last night I went to Wal-Mart, and I thought I was buying a game for my Nintendo DS, but the store associate reached BEHIND the DS games and pulled out one. When I got home I saw it was for a different system. But for the life of me, I can't find the stupid receipt. Will they give me a refund without the receipt?

THEY WILL PROBABLY GIVE YOU A STORE CREDIT. YOU CAN EXPECT TO FILL OUT A FORM WHICH IS USED TO  DETECT A PATTERN OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE MERCHANDISE WITH OUT A RECEIPT..  I WOULD NOT WAIT TO LONG THOUGH. I THINK AFTER 30 DAYS IT IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE RETURNED UNLESS IT IS DEFECTIVE OR SOME ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.  GOOD LUCK, AND KEEP THOSE RECEIPTS

why in the world would u ask that question on this net? go back to them and get ur money back -- or exchange it for what u want -- they did not become the biggest store in the world without thinkin of their customers -- what are they goona say no?

If it's opened probably not. If its not opened and you still have not found your receipt, they MAY give you store credit.

How did you pay for it?  Credit card/debit card?  They should give you a refund if so.  They can scan the history of what you've bought and find it from there.  If you used cash, they'll probably just give you a store credit.

Have you checked the bag for the receipt or the pocket of the pants you were wearing?

If you didn't open it and it is the same price as the DS one they will probably let you exchange it.  Walmart is very liberal about returns but I'm not sure about the video department.
