Will Washington Mutual be around next week?

The sky is falling!!!!

If I had serious money in WaMu it could not be pulled out and put into Wells Fargo fast enough!

There will be no gov't bail out, only a takeover, :(

Yes, their stock is falling like crazy.  Do you have any more info on their failure?

I'm thinking of doing bank run on WaMu to the credit union.

Sure.  And, even if they weren't, any funds you have deposited there are FDIC insured to at least $100,000.

~~There is no problem (except for a vicious rumor running amok) for Washington Mutual. My daughter works there and is not the least worried about her job (she is in admin). You should never have more than $100,000 in any one bank because of the FDIC, but otherwise your money is absolutely safe, and yes they will be there next week, and the next, etc!~~
