Even with all it's faults, it was the best venue for free speech since the Founding Fathers gathered in the local Pub to discuss current issues. What are your thoughts?

  1. Hard to say.

Since it is a free service and is owned by Yahoo, they can do whatever they want.

I think that if public outcry is sufficient, they will restore it in some form.  I do however, sincerely hope that the boards will be moderated in some fashion to keep the trolls and paid posters at bay.

  2. I hope so.  It was a whole livelier then this c**p,that's for sure..

  3. I doubt very much that Yahoo is interested in the least in "free speech".  I wouldn't look for those message boards to be restored, at least not in anything like their present form.

Their claim that the format "allowed a small number of individuals to dominate the discussion" is pretty much a crock, and it seems just a way of saying that there was more trolling than they liked.  For real,  I'd guess that Yahoo just blinked first after they got threatened by a certain crybaby lawyer in California whose name I dare not mention.:o)

The speech was just a little bit too "free", so Yahoo just killed the boards.  That's that.  They may replace them with a new format that allows them to censor the posting or otherwise track the trolls, but IMHO, that will just emasculate them.   Too bad, too.  The trolls were what made those boards worth the trip.

  4. If they could keep the stupid trolls off so we could have an intelligent converastion it would be alot better but i dont think that's possible. Of course some of the others that aren't trolls are not too intelligent either, lol.

  5. Sure they will, have you read this? It's the trolls that ruined it for everybody, they got to out of hand.

  6. I hope so.  With the Boards up I was able to find interest in the news and seeing the public opinion on issues that impact AMERICAN'S. Trolls wiil be Trolls.
