Will a 1* closed face driver be much different then a square faced driver?

I do slice the ball however when I play a driver with a closed face I end up hooking it. I realize some are more closed then others but I was looking at the Adams Insight BUL and it has a 1* closed face on it. I was also looking at the Adams XTD but the shaft is 46" and I think thats way too long for me.

  1. 1 degree will help with the slice.  If you hook with a draw biased driver then your swing is not too far off. You may want to spend the money on a lesson from a pro.  It is a better long term fix than a closed faced driver, I know because I have been thru the process. 46 inches on the driver is too long and will also promote the slice that you are trying to avoid. The shaft on the driver is very important, if the closed faced driver had a more flexible shaft that could cause the hook.  Try demo's on the range and go with the club that gives you the best ball flight.

  2. One degree closed won't have that much effect, and if you slice more than you like it will help you hit it straighter more often.
