Will a 12" subwoofer sound better than a 10" of the same kind?

more surface area= more bass, so that extra 2inches will help a little, you will tell a difference

also 12s usually hit lower (deeper) than 10s, so if you are a rap fan the 12s would be best, but if you listen to rock or metal the 10s would be best

it really depends on the type of sound in your system that you will be wanting it to perform! If it's the deep, low gut busting bass, then you will want to go with a 12" . But if you will want louder more constant bass, then a 10" will work well for you, but just remember that the box for whichever speaker has alot to do with it as well!!!  Hope this helps you out, goodluck!
