  1. that capacitor will be fine, but do not expect miracles.

they are temporary fixes and in the long run will reduce the life of the amplifier by alot.

caps are not really a battery, their main function is to try and stable the voltage drops.

another thing you might want to consider is doing the Big3 wire upgrade. depending on the vehicle, you can have the voltage jump to 14.4 volts when the regular voltage used to be in the low 13volt range.

but the way to fix the dimming lights correctly is by upgrading to a High Output Alternator. depending on the vehicle, if the alternator is not rated at a high amp... the alternator will die quick.

why? because a 1500watts rms amplifier requires alot of current. every car in the market is not designed  for such current demands.

  2. you realize voltage isa not what u pay attention to?

    u need a 3 farad cap for 1500 watts rms.... 1 farad = basically 500 rms

  3. The cap will be fine.  Capacitors are rated for their maximum voltage, so one rated for 24 volts will work fine.  Some caps designed for car audio are rated at 16 volts; it's best to avoid those.

The rule of thumb for capacitors is 1 farad for every 1000 watts, so the size of the cap is fine too.

Capacitors aren't a cure-all, but they certainly won't harm anything, and may do some good in some systems.  If you're having problems with your amp consistently not getting enough current from your charging system, a capacitor won't fix it.

  4. i would suggest just getting an aleternator for that price, but ya 2.0 farad should work.  the amp is rated at 14.4 volts

  5. you should not need a capacitor at all for that amount of power. First do the big 3 then if need be upgrade your alternator and battery.
