  1. The longblock (block and heads) should interchange as long as they are both "W" engine code vehicles. (8th digit of the VIN) There was an engine code "6" 4.6L that was available in the 97 Expedition, although rather rare. You will want to retain and fit all the electronics from your Expedition to the Town Car motor, as well as some of the physical stuff already mentioned earlier. At the very least the Intake Manifold. The Expedition used regular ported injection, whereas the Town Car is Sequential Fuel Injection.

  2. Yes and no. The block and heads yes , but the intake manifold timing cover brackets valvecovers are different and will need to be swapped over to work . But you can swap out all the misc stuff and it will fit and work just fine .

  3. not at all! the expo is a truck, the tc is a car, 2 totally different engines

  4. Yes.The mounts and all should line up.There may be different sensors and such because of the Town Car being luxury but it is the same motor. The best thing to do is call a salvage or junk yard that sells used auto parts. They ussually have a cross reference computer program that tell them.
