  1. yes

  2. Yes, it will.

Fish aren't like humans. In fact, the best way to retain good colours and DNA in a fish is to mate with a blood relative- But usually a sibling.

You can inbreed for several generations without any severe side affects. To prevent such side effects, breeders outcross.

Male guppies will breed with any female guppy, no matter whether it's related or not.

  3. If it's a male, yes.

  4. yes it will fish like guppies especially dont recognize their family and will mate with them. in fact to keep a certain feature in a guppy like color or a unique tail fin or something is easiest by breeding the family. it would be way too hard to breed guppies out of the family and would get costly to keep buying extra tanks and extra fish just so they dont mate with their family, because they will. i know it sounds a little messed up, brother & sister, daughter father, son & mother but they know no different and are sure to mate with one another so good luck and happy breeding! : )

  5. It is difficult to really know. Animals do what is in their nature, however your guppy might not be attracted to its own mother.

Just remember that fish are not like humans in this way, they have one goal in life, survive to reproduce. :)

  6. dont do it.the babys will have inferer dna.not a good idia.DONT DO IT!

  7. Hmm, will it? I think guppies reach sexual maturity pretty quickly. If it hasn't already, it might be getting close to being able to mate. I don't think they will realize they are related, and it's probably not a huge deal to mate them, since the offspring that got the recessives will not make it.

  8. Yes, most animals don't recognize "family" like humans do.

Males and females mate, and thats about it. In the case of fish, its not uncommon to breed a mother and son, father and daughter, or brother and sister to preserve a certain lineage. Breeders introduce new non related fish around the 3rd generation to prevent any genetic problems that could arise from inbreeding.
