Currently I have an Airport Extreme Base station for my computer and game consoles. I just got a 5.8 ghz cordless phone. Will it interfere with my router? I was looking at the setting of the Airport and the radio is set at 802.11n. Should I change it?

  1. no, while 802.11N does use the 5Ghz frequency there is no problems with the two interfering with each other.

now 802.11B and 802.11G operate on 2.4Ghz the same as 2.4Ghz phones, and may interfere with each other...

if you are concerned with problems, you should get a DECT cordless phone... if you do have reception problems you should change the channel number that the router transmits on...

  2. no...you will be just fine...its was the 2.4MHz that gave all the trouble with interference!!
