  1. It is generally accepted as fact that a 60 lb. bow will take any big game in North America. That being said, there is no doubt that a well tuned bow with a sharp broadhead, with a perfect lung shot on a broadside bear, there will be a pass through. If bone is hit., no pass through! Good luck and good hunting!

  2. yes. But alot has to happen just right. You must have the right broadheads, hit no large bones, no more than 30-35 yards. also angle of entry. The good news for you is the same can be said with a bow with 60-70 lb  bow.

  3. It depends on the circumstances. On an average black bear, a properly placed shot with a razor sharp broadhead shoul completely pass through. Hit a heavy bone, Use a dull tip, etc. and your penetration can be seriously reduced.

  4. Yes...IF you use the proper arrow, and put it in the proper place.

This means a properly made hunting-weight arrow made for the bow/archer combination, using a properly sharpened broadhead, placed in the "kill zone" without hitting any bones. (If the right type of broadhead is used on a properly made arrow, a clean pass-through can still be possible even when bone is hit)

For some insight into arrow/broadhead lethality, see the webpages listed at the URL below. The man who did the research, Dr. Ed Ashby, has spent more than 25 years on this.
