I have an older furnace that needs a thermostat. I purchased a 24 volt not realizing that i had a 30 volt system. It would not work. So I have found one at ACE hardware's website that is heat only, 6-30 volt. but when you read further it says fits 24 volt. Help!!

  1. The transformer is supplying 24 volts control voltage to all the components in the furnace. The thermostat is the switching device for the components. The one you bought will work just fine if you wire it right.Good luck.
