  1. Yes,it will run the sub. 1200 watts is the max power in the sub.350 watts is the amount the sub can take for any period of time. You can only run the sub at full power for a short period at a time.

  2. The real two reasons for blowing a sub are OVERPOWERING and distortion due to someone cranking the gain on an underpowered amp. It's because the gain isn't set properly. Not because the amp isn't powerful enough. Just to dispel some common misconceptions.

To actually answer your question. If the amp is 650RMS and the sub is 350RMS, you're probably going to break something. As a rule of thumb. You don't want to exceed the RMS rating of the sub with the RMS rating of the amp.

The peak rating is really a useless figure. Make sure that you are only using the RMS ratings as your reference.

  3. You have to be very careful with pwr rating,

Is the amp rated at a true 650 Watt ? Also at what impedance and voltage is the amp rated at ? Yes you can use a smaller pwr amp for a Higher rated sub. Do you have the Rms Rating on the Sub? The key is the box design, also set up. The major problem you will have  is where you set the gain controls most people crank them full tilt. Turn amp gain down and disconnect the main spkrs- turn the volume up to full on the headunit then ease the amp gain up until you hear breakup in sound or distorted sound. Back up gain slightly and this should take care of it.

  4. there are two main causes for blowing subs: underpowering and distortion. do you have a crossover? what is the amp rated at for rms power? if the amps rms rating is above 350 you should be ok.
