both answer--correct but,........... you will have to change or use the old converter... if you're replacing the trans from a th350 or th400 you cant use the converter at all. the big block requires a different stall for stock applications.. small blocks 16-1800  big blocks 12-1600.  you will also have to change the slip joint on the driveshaft---and possibly cut or lengthen it too.. measure before you commit to it. the 700r4 is very close to the same size as the 350.. close--not exact.. and dont forget the trans mounts and some have electronics... good luck
