Will a 8.5gb dvd work on a regular dvd player?

I was just wondering if a dual layer disc (8.5gb) will work on a regular dvd player

If you burn it properly, it should if your player supports it. Most players made in 2008 do, but check your user's manual to see what it can play. the newer the player, the more likely it will play.
