Question:

Will a 8 month frozen turkey be any good?

I have a frozen whole turkey in my freezer that has been there since last December, that I never got around to cooking. It is still in the same wrapping from the grocery store. I am thinking about taking it out to thaw to cook this weekend. Will it be okay? There shouldn't be any freezer burn on it because I've never open the wrap, right?

  1. it should be alright

but make sure it is fully thawed out before cooking, like all white meats it must be thoroughly cooked unlike red meats which can be rare

  2. you bet, go for it.

  3. Well i ate a turkey that has been in the freezer for 3 years! Well i am still alright but it taste slightly different. JUST make sure that  the turkey is hard when u  take it out from the freezer. If it soft it means that the freezing is bad and the bacteria will make you sick.

  4. yea im pretty sure your going to be allright

  5. i think but you should use a micro first to unfreeze it then cook it iam sure if you put your spirit in it it'll be delisious :)

  6. I would think it should be fine as long as the original wrapper isn't torn anywhere. I believe it should be ok up to a year in the freezer. If it doesn't look   right when it's defrosting,  I wouldn't use it.

  7. of course it will, if you see that's a little freezer burn, don't worry about it.  just make sure you add your special sauce, butter, wine, and so forth for it to come out moist.
