  1. yes it will.it has two twins that can convert to a king an upper bed and it is about 185 square ft and the balcony is 60 sq ft.you can even get a roll away for this room at no extra cost.

  2. We had 4 in a room.  You should be fine.  One bunk drops/folds down from the ceiling which isn't bad.  The couch then converts to a bed.  The child can sleep there.  The rooms are surprisingly large!

If you aren't completely sold on the balcony, there are "Family" staterooms on the Spa Deck (Deck 11).  They don't have a balcony, but a floor to ceiling window which is GREAT!  It's also 30 seconds away from the outside world, 30 seconds away from the spa, and of course 30 seconds away from Camp Carnival which is very convenient.   I'll post a link to some pictures I took of the room from our trip on Carnival Glory, which has the exactly same ship layout:

    I hope this helps.

P.S. We'll be on Liberty in December. (no kids this time!)

  3. Yes, from a sleeping standpoint, an 8A cabin will be fine.

However, the other considerations are bathroom and if the child can safely sleep in the upper berth.

We have sailed several times with 4 guests in a Cat 8 room.  Yes, we fit but there is always a hassle with scheduling bathroom/shower time plus crowding each other when trying to get ready for dinner or shore excursions.

Also, the upper berth is not very comfortable for an adult and if your child tends to roll around at night, then they might fall off even with the small rail.

For our last trip, we booked the teens in an interior cabin directly across the hall from our cat 8 balcony.  It cost a bit more but it made for a much more comfortable trip.
