Will a Chinese Water Dragon change color when stressed?

I picked up my chinese water dragon and brought him in to the kitchen to show my roommate. When I arrived in the kitchen he was pretty much all brown. But when I put him back in his habitat, his skin looked more green/brown. When he is stressed, would he change color?

  1. no i dont think so i think they change colour to suit there habitat

  3. Yes the colors of alot of reptiles become less vibrent and dull when stressed but also when mal nurished and sick as well, but it shouldnt change from goin to the kitchen to his habitat maybe your seeing things, sometimes the light can make things look brighter.

  4. yes most reptiles change colors when they are stressed but what it sounds like is the water dragon got a little bit cold and got darker to absorb more heat
