Will a DECT phone bought in UK work in India?

Hello,

I am planning to buy a DECT phone (BT Verve 500 Black Telephone with Answer Machine Twin) in the UK. Will this phone work fine in India? Do I need to change some settings in the phone to work otherwise?

One of my friends was using a DECT phone in Germany and he reported that the phone does not work in India.

Yes. Any cordless phone will work in India. You may just experience reduced receiving volume but most DECT phones have volume controls so it should not be a problem.

Another issue is that power variation in India is too big as normal AC adaptor may be a problem so you just need to change the adaptor with one that is designed for India.

Caller ID standard may not be the same in India too but if you will not subscribe, it will be fine anyway.
