Will a Directv slimline Satellite dish ka/ku hd w/5 lnb Dish work with BOTH HD and SD Receivers?

I am looking to get another receiver for my house. I have the new Directv slimline Satellite dish! ka/ku hd w/5 lnb Dish and their HD receiver, will the dish work with a SD receiver too?

Yes.  The satellite companies send the signals through the same satellites and transponders.  The difference is in the receiver and, of course, the programming plan you are on.

What really matters when it comes down to dishes working/not working is what information they capture and what information the LNBs block.

Basically, the 3 LNB dish pulls information from 3 satellites. The 5 LNB ka/ku dishes will pull the same three sets of information, plus that from 103 and 99 (the HD satellites).
