Question:

Will a GS500F (2004) fuel valve work on a GS500E (1995)?

I need to replace the fuel valve on my 1995 Suzuki GS500E. There is one selling on eBay for a 2004 GS500F. It's got the same basic hoses (i.e. on, reserve, to carb, and vacuum), but looks quite a bit different. Mostly it looks like the diaphragms have been moved from the back to the side or something.

Does anyone know if the newer one will work on the older bike?

Many thanks,

Ickaber

  1. Is this the petcock you were looking at?

The 2 black hoses go to the fuel tank.

The remaining tube goes to the carb.

This petcock (the 2004 model) is not vacuum operated.

You can use it on your 1995 model, but you'll have to plug up the vacuum line.
