Will buying a HDMI cable be worth it if I want to upscale DVDs to 720p. I have an BRAVIA 42' Rear Projection LCD TV. Will it look good? :)

  1. yea an hdmi cable is great for two main reasons, one is that it makes your picture quality better, and two, its only one simple plug instead of having 3 component cables.

but if you want it to be worth your money dont waste your money on those 70 dollar hdmi cables from bestbuy because its just a ripoff

all the technology is the same right now and getting a more expensive cable would be just the same as getting one for 50 dollars less

i got 2 hdmi cables from walmart for only 24 dollars! and the picture quality on my dlp toshiba and my lcd samsung is great!

  2. yes indeed since hdmi cable are so cheap these days inspiretech sell one for $5 bucks... check them out http://www.inspiretech.com

  3. HDMI will provide the best picture, even though the difference is not great (over component).  You can get HDMI cables very inexpensively here:

  4. You'll actually need one for 99% of upscaling DVD players (read: all the ones you can actually buy in stores, and most mainstream online shops), security reasons won't allow for anything higher than 480p output for DVDs. Get one from Monoprice (http://www.monoprice.com/products/produc... ) and be happy.
