I have a 32inch VW32L Vizio and I only want the signal quality better on that tv. Would I have to run a cord all the way to my dish or just to where the thing splits to go to the other tvs in my house?

  1. The HDMI cable goes from the satelite box to the TV. It is not possible to run it to the dish, that is a completely different type of cable for a completely different purpose.

We would have to know how the satelite box is connected to the TV now to predict whether or not it will be a noticeable improvement.

  2. First, do you have cable or satellite?  It's a little confusing when you say "cable box" then you say something about a "dish"

If your set-top box is not an HD box, then it will not have an HDMI port, therefore it will be unable to accept an HDMI cable

The only way to get better image quality is to either get more power (juice) to the box/TV, or to upgrade to HD service, if you have cable, it may be a good idea to split your cable connection, connect one cable to your cable set-top box, and connect the cable box to the TV with composite cables (yellow/white/red cables), then take the other cable from the splitter, and connect it directly to your television, then do a channel scan, you should be able to get your standard basic channels, and you will be able to get unblocked digital channels, and some HD channels, and for the blocked digital channels, just switch over to your cable box, as for your static filled channels you should be able to get them on basic cable pretty clear
