I was turning my truck into a daily driver/offroad vehicle. I was thinking the LS1 motor would be great for the engine swap. How hard would this be to do? What other parts would i need to swap out to make the LS1 compatible with my f150?

  1. You'd need the engine and accessories.

    K-member

    Wiring

    Transmission

At the very least..... probably more and even at least some fabrication, but every job is going to be different. Do you know what you're getting into?

  2. Transmission, all engine related electronics, motor mounts. Not really worth it...the engine you've got in it is in the same of engines they use on the Mustang and similar displacement too so if I was you I'd just try swapping the electronics and supercharger and if needed engine off of a 2003-2004 Cobra. That would get you up to 390hp (40 more than the LS1 last I checked).

  3. It would cost a lot and not be easy to figure out.

  4. what!!!!!!!!!!! a chevy in a ford, no no no no no.

  5. A chevy engine?  No one likes interracial vehicles.  It wouldn't be worth the trouble either unless that's one mighty nice ford.
