I was wondering i have a 14 flatbottom boat and i have a leaf blower that blows 200mph.. Could it be possible to use the leaf blower to push my boat around with me in it. If not how about two of the blowers? Anyone try this?

  1. Yes, it WILL give you SOME forward propulsion, but not very much. An electric "troll motor' will be MUCH more efficient ! ( Much quieter too ) .

  2. you have to factor in the weight of the boat, water drag,  and the thrust of the blower.  It may push 200mph but the thrust may only be 30lbs.  This will not really even move your boat.  But you will make a lot of noise and look really silly trying.

  3. sure it will. but you need an umbrella to act as a sail.

  4. A paddle would work better>Besides you would get wet with all the water blowing everwhere>

  5. good luck to you mate please film this and put it on youtube

  6. You need air volume.  You would be better off with an ultra lite engine with a propeller.

  7. lmao sounds like something youd see in west virgina

  8. What you need is to get a trolling motor with a break-away mount- when the shaft hits something, the break away cushions the impact and lets the trolling motor be pushed out of the way - I have used one for the past 17 years and have hit hundreds of stumps and logs with no ill effect on the trolling motor- mine is a motor guide brand- get one and problem is solved - you might want to get the stainless steel shaft trolling motor also.

  9. my vote no.
