  1. Dont Know the answer to the question but suggest you set it up and then unplug and then plug it back in after a couple of minutes. If it retains the settings then it will retain them pretty much indefinitely. As a general rule home office routers ( Linksys / Netgear etc ) tend to retain the setting to avoid problems after a power outtage.  Just double check to see if there is a save icon anywhere when you are configuring the router and click on it before power cycling the router.

  2. yes it will. i did the same thing with another router and it remember all the settings.

So go ahead. Also make sure u have the most recent drivers and firmware like George H said!

  3. Yes

  4. Yes, it should work very well.  Also, make sure that you upgrade the software for your router.  Good Luck!

  5. Yes, unless you hit the reset button, it uses NVRAM to store the data, and will retain settings until the end of time unless you hit the reset button while its plugged in.

  6. sometimes it doesn't. when i moved (approx. time router was unplugged: 4 hours) the router reset itself back to factory state.

what you can do is type up and print out the instructions for her. should be easy :)

  7. Yeah it has built in flash memory for its config.
