  1. Have you looked at the two and do the look EXACTLY the same with the same voltage and amp hour specs?  

    Even then you are running the risk of damaging the camera if the battery was not designed for the camera you put it in.

    It is always a good policy to buy the battery that was designed for the camera you have.  

    The battery the Nikon S600 uses is the EN-EL10 Lithium-ion Battery a 3.7v, 740 mAh battery.

    The Olympus LI-42B Li-ion battery is a 3.7v  660 mAh battery
