I am moving from Canada to the UK and I am not sure if I should bring it along or sell it and buy a new one, I wouldn't mind missing public TV as long as I will be able to get a HD cable or Sat box and use it. Thanks

  1. The signals on HDMI or component leads are the same.  As long as you get a new set-top-box when you get there you'll be good (the built-in over-the-air tuner will be useless though).

I wonder if the cost of shipping might be worse than the difference between selling your set and buying a new one though unless you're moving on an all-expenses-paid company transfer or the like.

  2. No and no.  Canadian and UK sets are not compatible.  And there isn't anything that will make them compatible.
