  1. I have had an African Grey and they create a lot of dust and feathers.  I have heard of children developing allergies by being near the pet dander at an early age but beyond that I know of no issues.  You should seek advise from an allergist or pediatrician.

  2. the bird is not a threat to the baby you are doing all that can be expected of you

  3. Shoul be fine as long as the bird is not in same room. I would also say to get a good air purifier for the bird room as it is good for you and the bird to have good air quality. Mist the bird often to keep dander dust to a low. Good luck.

  4. Everyone has dust some sort or another in their houses. I don't believe there is a truly dust free home. If there is I would like to know how they do it. The bird is just adding more dust in the air however and could cause the baby some problems if the baby is exposed to it daily. I would suggest a good cleaning of the home. I have mimized the bird dust in my home by building our own cages. The sides and back of the cages are glass. The top is solid wood. Only the doors in the front has the stainless steel mesh. This helps keep not only most of the feathers and dust inside the cage but the seed hulls also. Course if your like everyone else you let your bird out for flight time. They do make netting that goes over the babies crib this would help while the baby is resting. Cleaning and dusting is your best chance. Animals are allot of work. I have 5 cockatiels and a sparrow. It takes me about two hours a day just to clean and care for my birds cages. As hard as you try you will never have a complete dust free home. Good Luck

  5. yes i known

  6. some babies may be ok but others may be more sensitive and become allergic to the dust, make sure the bird is NEVER out of his cage when the baby os over, sometimes a sweet bird may turn into a devil and may severly hurt the child.
