Question:

Will a bad break up affect ability and training in shooting sports?

It has been almost six months since my broken engagement, and I still can't get into the right headspace or zone for shooting. I can't even pick up my bow (target panic in stereo) and my rifle scores have gone to s***. Is it normal for it to affect me still, what can I do to get past this.

  1. meet another girl shoot stuff that goes boom lol

  2. You are thinking about stuff too much. Next time you go shooting put a paperclip on your ear so it kinda pinches you. Then while thinking about the paperclip, try to shoot. See if your score increases.

These little tricks take your mind off stress and give you less to worry about in a time of need.

  3. I myself tried shooting sports when I was down. What I do is just move on with my life and know that there is such thing as a brighter future. But if your still not in the zone, just try to concentrate on positives and on the target and I recommend talking to friends/family about it. Letting it off your back helps your concentration and boost your self confidence.

  4. Yeah it's normal. Ask yourself what's wrong. What leaves you unsettled with what happened. Speak out your thoughts about the situation as much as you can, basically just express your emotion: writing, telling others, arts. Its a bit cliche, I know, but it works.

In personal experience finding a new partner (temporary or not even serious) could tell you a lot about yourself but be sure that it's not manipulative--NOT a rebound girlfriend.

Life still goes on my friend. Everything passes in time.

  5. gonna sound bad but shooting the person you broke up with might help.
