Will a bank cash in a bag of exsactly 1,000 pennies I counted?

I have rolled more then $200 dollars of quarters, dimes and nickels. I didn't have any penny wrappers so I counted them and put them in to bags of 1000. Will the bank cash in all of this money?

yes   they just put it in a machine and the machine double counts then they give it to you in cash!!!   that is a lot of pennies, you must be a good saver!

Each bank has it's own policy regarding large amounts of change.  Some will require change to be rolled, some will mechanically count it for you.  There are also public vendors such as "Coin Star" found in groceries and shopping centers that will count it for you.

I don't know why they would'nt...but wow thats a lot of change!!!! I usually go to cub foods and trade in my change in their machine...they usually charge like $3-$10 I think.

No, i'm pretty sure you are going to have to roll the pennies. Its because they weigh them with the wrapper on & everything to make sure that there is the correct amount of pennies in the roll. Sorry =/

erm maybe, if they can be bothered. or go to sanidsburys, they have a coin convertor machine, it ciunts your coins and gives you a recipt to redeem at the tills for discount, or cash. but it does charge like a pound i think :S

If it's a big bank and they have a coin machine right there on site, then yes, they will. Most banks, however, will ask that you roll all your coins before they accept them.

Banks give out the coin wrappers for free, you know. All you have to do is go in and ask for some. Or if you can't get to the bank, they sell the wrappers at places like Wal-Mart.

Of course they will! Hehe...it's a bank. No matter how awkward or time consuming it may be for them, by law they have to.

It'd be the same as someone coming in a store and wanting to see everything out of a display case...or being a waiter and being asked a hundred times to go get something different for your table.

For a banker...sometimes someone brings in 1,000 pennies to be cashed in. Haha

They have machines they can use to count it. They'll just put it through the machine, though it could take a while. You might want to call them first to find out what time of day would be best and so they know to expect you.

No. They will accept the other coins you have wrapped, but they will not take in the pennies because no one is going to sit there and process them to be rolled.

They may be able to give you some penny-wrappers, but not enough, no doubt. You will have to purchase them at the office supply store.

You can also call around and find a change-counting machine at the front of a grocery store. They're all over the place where I live. You dump the lose change in and it gives you paper money in exchange.

You need to roll them and write your account on each one or go to a coin-star and pay the fee usually 10-15 percent.

They even have machines you can dump them in and it counts the change for you. It gives you a receipt you take it to the teller and she gives you your money or deposits it in your account. I am not sure which banks all do it but it is simple and easy!

If you don't mind paying a small fee some grocery stores now have the same machine but they do charge a small amount!

Most banks won't give you the time of day if you don't have an account with them.

The next time you go to the grocery store, see if they have one of those "self-serve checkout" lines.  

Don't bother with the "coin star", because they charge you up to 10% to count your money.

Those machines at the self-serve checkout line will take pennies, if you're buying something that you need anyway.  Just make sure that the person behind you in line can see that you have a big bag of pennies, so she can get into another line.
