Will a baseball hat shrink in the washer/dryer?

because i saw a really nice hat at the store and it was a tad bit big so i bought it anyway,just wanting to know if itll shrink

I dont think "shrink" is the word, more like "deform". I remember my mom washing my dads "trucker" like hat when I was little, and it ended up looking twisted and mangled, even trying to re-shape it by drying it out on top of a canister didn't work. The next time, she bought one of those "hat-holders" for like 5 dollars at wal-mart in the laundry aisle, and washed it in the dishwasher. She did take it out before the drying cycle started just in case the intense heat might cause dis-coloring or fading of the fabric.

If you wash it in hot water it will defo shrink , but cold it will be ok and keep its colour.

no it doesnt shrink.  Also a lot of hats after being washed the rim gets weaker and bends easier.  I would only wash hats when you really need to.

Put it in the dishwasher! cause a washer/dryer will ruin the hat.
