  1. no...like counterfeit money you are screwed for the money

  2. As a general rule, if you provide the Bill of Sale to investigators, you will not be prosecuted; however, receiving stolen goods is receiving stolen goods, whether you were or were not aware that the goods were stolen at the time of purchase; therefore, you will lose possession of the motorcycle and also lose the money you spent to pay for it.

If police can prove that, once you found out it was stolen you didn't immediately report it to law enforcement authorities, the liklihood of you being charged with receiving stolen property increases dramatically.

  3. yes

  4. NO...it's your responsibility to make sure VIN numbers and motor numbers match and that you have the proper paperwork....If It's stolen property and it's in your possesion you are responsible...If you think it's stolen report it to the Cops

  5. The real question is - how can I get my money back?  You don't want to be driving around on a stolen motorcycle.  Granted - yes this would probably protect you legally, but morally you are still obligated to the former owner.

  6. You won't get in trouble if it's notarized
