I am planning on attending an 18+ concert in Boston, Massachusetts and only have my birth certificate, my social security card, and a college ID with my picture and name on it. Are these legal forms of ID to allow me entrance to the show?

  1. It should, why wouldn't it be enough?

Better question, with all of that why don't you just head on over to the nearest DMV and get a proper ID?

  2. You will probably not get in.  You need a government issued ID with photo.

  3. Skip the social security - it has no identifying info on it and should be kept more secure.

Birth certificate shows your age, school ID proves your identity, so you should be okay.  It depends on the venue and their security, though.  It's not so much a "legal" issue.

  4. probably not. you need a state id with a pic to do the trick if you don't have a drivers license which you can get with the ID you have.

  5. So I can't help but ask, why not take those pieces of identification and just get a real state issued photo ID?

When I got my Drivers License, they gave me the card with my photo on it that day!
