Will a blue-ray disc play on a HD display gateway computer my drive just says dvd+/-rw / cd-r/w will it play?

another thing is is resident evil extinction out on HD DVD at all cause if blue -ray dont work i want to get HD dvd will HD dvd play in this computer too

Neither blu-ray or hd dvd will play in a regular cd dvd drive because they use a red laser and the new hd and blu-ray require a special blue reading laser.

Blu-ray and HD dvd players usually have both for DVD and hd.

Blu ray or HD dvd drives for computers are about $300 if not more.
