  1. Yes, they will actually upscale them to near HD quality also.


  2. Yes. a Blu-Ray player will play a regular DVD and in many cases it will also upgrade the quality of that DVD.

    IF you are going to buy a Blu-Ray I honestly reccomend just buying PS3 it is cheaper cost wise than most blu-ray players but is better quality, plus you are also getting a fabulous gaming system out of it.
