Will a boot and nuke program remove a virus?

we have a pretty nasty virus on our home computer we have tried so many antivirus to clear it..i read somewhere that boot and nuke program will compleatly wipe the hard drive will this get rid of a virus..and if so will there be any programs left on the computer such windows xp or will everything need to be reinstaled

  1. To answer the question *that you asked*, yes, everything will have to be reinstalled.

    Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) irrecoverably destroys *all* data on the hard drive.


  2. once you format your computer your good to go all viruses are destroyed if your still not sure just format it again and again. so yeah your good to go.

    Try Kaspersky.com and activate one of the 30 day trial periods and see if this helps it does wonders for me.
