  1. usually no, even if its metal. i have no idea, its just the way their made.

  2. it depends. if its made of wood than it probably will. if its fiberglass or aluminum than it probably wont. i have a fiberglass canoe and we purposely tip it, fill it with water and stand in it so its like 6 feet under water but it wont ever sink. hope this helped!

  3. Probabl not. They have flotation material in them, but sometimes it does come out.

  4. If it's in flat water, the canoe will likely stay barely submerged at the surface.   Good luck trying to right it, or move it.   Many boats have foam flotation in the bow and stern - but they're difficult to empty if you're in deep water.  You almost need to be able to stand up in shallow water to roll it over and empty the water out - they can be very very heavy - so getting the leverage needed while treading water is tough.

  5. It can, but they are supposed to have flotation.

  6. No.  There are floatation chambers if the boat is not naturally buoyant.  These only keep the canoe on the surface.
