I don't want it to be a trade-in I just want to get rid of it.

  1. Yes. All car dealers will/can purchase a car even if you dont buy theirs. However you might be better off selling it yourself, as most dealers will only give you what they think they will give at their weekly auctions. I used to work for a dealership and have family in the car business.... its a tricky environment so be careful. Good Luck.

  2. try and sell it as a private first, you will get more money for it. give it a polish and a nice clean on the inside and it will help with the value. dealers rip you off big time.

    have a good one.

  3. I believe Car-Max will. Check to see if there is one in your area.

  4. yes.  But be prepared for a low offer.  If its a trade in, we can at least make some profit on teh car you are buying.  That gets a little more for the car than a straight purchase.  If you are just selling a car, we need to looka t it and evaluate whether or not it fits our profile of retail cars.  If so, then we would buy it well below wholesale to account for the inevitable repairs and reconditioning the car needs before it can be sold.  If it does not fit our profile, we may not make an offer at all.

If you try to sell a lifted 4x4 truck to a mercedes store, for example, they will just say "no thanks".  So the car has to be right for the dealer.

If you just want it gone, sell it privately or eBay.  You will get more for the car than trying to sell to a dealer.
