Will a casting agent call me if i DON'T want me?

I recently sent in my headshot to a casting director. If they don't think I fit the description, will they bother calling/e-mailing me, telling me no? Or will I never hear from them and just assume I didn't get it?

  1. Most likely you didnt get in.

Casting directors get thousands of headshots and resumes.

They dont have a lot of time on their hands, so they only bother to call people that they are interested in.

But the person above me is right, it wouldnt hurt to send in again.

Because you never know, your resume and headshot could have gotten mixed up with the people they didnt want, or thrown out, or just hiding underneath some other useless papers.

    You never know.

So you would have absolutely nothing to lose if you sent in again.

  2. it probably depends on the place.

  3. no, not usually they only call the people they're interested in because most casting directors get a lot of resumes and headshots for each role.

  4. It will most likely be the latter. Just like a manager looking for a job, casting directors get a LOT of headshots and resumes and they only have time to respond to the ones that interest them. If you see that they haven't casted the role you want in a coupel of weeks, it doesn't hurt to send it in again.
